Travel insurance: All-inclusive holidays to become more popular

Wednesday, 02 December 2009

More people will be seeking travel insurance for long-haul, all-inclusive holidays, according to one travel expert.

Choosing a package break where everything is included in the price allows travellers to budget better, explains Trevor Davis, director of retail distribution at The Co-operative Travel.

"People are going to want to be sure about their holiday spending before they go abroad because of changes in the currency market," he points out.

All-inclusive holidays mean travellers can be sure of how much money they need, Mr Davis added.

And Brits will ensure they get some sort of break despite the financial situation as a holiday is seen as an essential purchase rather than a luxury, he continued.

Figures from Thomas Cook back up Mr Davis' statement, revealing that overseas holidays remain the highest priority area of spending for next year.

Furthermore, Brits will spend the same or more on their 2010 break.
