Drivers with vintage autos who want to avoid a claim on their classic car insurance policy need to think seriously about security, it has been asserted. According to vehicle recovery firm Tracker, antique models are considered an easy target among thieves as they tend to be easier to break into than more modern motors. The company acknowledged owners were often reluctant to install security features as they can spoil the look of a classic car. However, the group pointed out it offers a tracking device that may be more suitable. Spokesman Stuart Chapman said: "The Tracker unit doesn't modify the vehicle in any way ensuring the original features remain, while allowing police to trace the car if it is stolen." Drivers were also advised fitting security equipment may mean vintage auto owners qualify for low cost motor insurance. Last year, Tracker devices helped the police recover more than £400 million worth of vehicles, the company recently reported. Car Insurance - Get Swiftcovered today!
