Car insurance: Auto checks 'could prevent a bank holiday breakdown'

Tuesday, 11 August 2009

Women drivers keen to avoid having to rely on the breakdown cover they purchased with their car insurance this coming bank holiday may find setting aside 20 minutes for a professional auto check can make all the difference, it has been claimed.

According to Foxy Lady Drivers Club, booking a vehicle in for a quick once-over can help reduce the chances of a motorist finding themselves stranded at the side of the motorway.

Founder Steph Savill explained it is traditionally left to women to organise a getaway and after sorting everything out they do not need the extra hassle of a breakdown.

She stated: "Adding a 20-minute car check to our pre-holiday plans, carried out by local female-friendly garage professionals, can minimise the chances of our car letting us down."

Meanwhile, regular servicing may also help women protect their cheap vehicle insurance premiums, as it could prevent a serious fault going unnoticed and causing an accident.
