The vehicle
car insurance customers are most looking forward to is BMW's flagship 5-Series saloon.
Widely regarded as being the leader of the mid-size executive class, the new version is the most-anticipated motor of 2010, according to voters on the car leasing website ContractHireAndLeasing.com.
The BMW saw off competition from Audi's A8 saloon and the Jaguar XJ to claim top spot, winning 20 per cent of the overall vote.
Richard Lawton, the website's spokesperson, said a combination of cutting-edge technology, coupled with BMW's strong reputation, makes the 5-Series an attractive proposition for car insurance customers.
"With great driver aids including the introduction of Park Assist, along with Head-up Display, Night Vision, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Warning, Speed Limit Info and two rear entertainment packages available, the 5-Series is equipped to go," he added.
In the course of the five previous models,
BMW claims it has sold more than 5.5 million of the vehicles around the world.
