Motor insurance: Campaign is a success

Thursday, 03 April 2008

Fresh road safety measures are to be introduced in one area of Bradford after a campaign from locals was successful.

Now mobile cameras are to be used on Whitehall Road in Drighlington following a number of accidents there, reports the Morley Advertiser.

Such measures have been taken because a monitoring scheme proved that many drivers were travelling over the legal speed limit.

One of the local residents who was involved in the campaign, Jill Newsome, showed her delight at the introduction of the new safety drive.

She told the news source: "We're really pleased with the news. We're not out to get people who speed, it's about making this road safer and getting people to think about how they drive."

In related news, Cambridgeshire county council recently stated that modern speed cameras may still be used on a stretch of road between Chatteris and Ramsey, but these need to get the all-clear from the government.

Motorists caught speeding may find that there car insurance premiums are negatively impacted upon.
