Motor insurance: Call for speed cameras in Bristol

Thursday, 05 June 2008

There has been a call for speed cameras in Stapleton, Bristol, after a series of incidents were witnessed there, something that may impact on drivers' motor insurance.

Locals in the area have stated that in recent times motorists have been acting as if Park Road is a racing track, reports the Bristol Evening Post.

Resident Janet Kaulbach urged the authorities to consider the presence of speed cameras there and added that the bad driving incidents are a major problem.

She told the news source: "No one seems to think that there has been a serious enough accident here yet and you wonder what it will take."

Spokesman at Bristol city council Simon Caplan said that measures have been taken in an attempt to offer support to those living close by who have concerns.

He stated that new anti-friction surfacing will be put in place in a bid to make the roads safer.

In related news, Lancashire drivers have claimed that a mobile speed camera van has been deliberately hidden from the view of the road in an effort to catch them out.
