Travel insurance: British mums 'work too much' on holiday
Wednesday, 09 August 2006
Many British mums actually spend their holidays working, according to new research.
A poll from a leading travel insurance provider highlighted that many mums fail to relax whilst on holiday and actually end up working 42 hours a week.
It is estimated that 56 per cent of mums believe holidays often involve a large element of cooking, cleaning and looking after the kids rather than relaxing on the beach.
This means that around 13 per cent of mums actually return from their break more stressed that before. However, purchasing the right travel insurance cover could help to make sure that unforeseen problems don't add even more cost and stress to that two-week vacation.
Kevin McAdam, whose company conducted the research, explained: "It looks like it’s all work and no play for mums going on holiday this year. But family holidays can send stress levels soaring for both parents, so we advise mums and dads to be prepared."
He added: "If they arrange their travel essentials like insurance and EHICs before they go on holiday, it gives them extra peace of mind should anything go wrong while they’re away."
