Travel insurance: Brits 'looking to secure cheap deals'

Thursday, 05 February 2009

This year could see a rise in the number of Brits determined to secure cheap travel insurance, if the comments of one holiday website are anything to go by.

According to trivago, people appear to be making a conscious effort to reduce costs and seek out less expensive destinations.

It added holidaymakers are starting to search for trips early in a bid to get their hands on the cheapest deals available.

Spokesperson Sian Williams said: "People are looking to find the best rates for their holiday and people really seem to be trying to plan ahead and compare all the offers."

A survey by trivago recently revealed 35 per cent of Brits are planning to compare prices to find the cheapest getaways possible, compared to 31 per cent of Germans and 14 per of Spaniards.

One way to cut the costs of a trip is to buy cheap travel insurance.
