Car insurance: BVRLA revises guide

Sunday, 07 June 2009

A new publication could help reduce the number of work-related car insurance claims.

The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) has revised its online guide to driving in a professional capacity.

It now includes information on technical devices that could help with safer driving and reduce accident costs, advice on recent legislative developments and case studies showing the benefits of implementing the document's recommendations.

According to BVRLA, the publication should be read by anyone who gets behind the wheel as part of their job.

Chief executive John Lewis said: "The information in this guide is equally applicable to drivers covering many miles each day or just a few each month."

The document has been endorsed by Prince Michael of Kent who is the patron of Roadsafe.

Companies that follow the advice in the guide may find they are in a better position to protect their low cost motor insurance.
