Car Insurance: City people use cars 'to boost sex appeal'
Wednesday, 15 November 2006
Where you live in the UK has a massive impact on what car you drive, according to a new report.
City slickers are attracted to gadgets and powerful cars with ten per cent seeking a car which boosts their sex appeal, whereas country folk think about safety and are more thrifty when picking out a motor.
Lloyd East, from the car insurance company who compiled the data, said: "There are some interesting regional variations in car choice and stark differences between city and country.
"A car is one of the most important purchases we make and despite an individual's personal tastes, it is important to consider how much a car will cost and also the best way to finance it."
In Yorkshire, people are likely to buy small multi-purpose vehicles such as the Vauxhall Zafira, according to the research. Whatever car you drive its important to have adequate car insurance.
Yesterday's announcement of an increased congestion cost for drivers of 4X4 vehicles may see decreases in the popularity of so-called Chelsea tractors.
