Travel insurance: Some eurozone holidays 'still cheaper than UK'

Travel insurance customers looking for a holiday this year may find many eurozone getaways cheaper than the UK - despite the exchange rate.

This is the opinion of Nigel Pocklington, who is managing director at in Africa, the Middle East and Europe.

He said although the pound may not buy consumers as many euros as it has in the past, lots of locations are still cheaper on a per-night basis than in Britain.

Dublin averages £77 nightly, compared to £111 for London or £119 for Bath, Mr Pocklington added.

Prague and Berlin were highlighted in particular for "good value" and a range of things to do and places to go.

"Although a lot of people are staying at home and enjoying the fact that it is cheaper than it was last year, there are still bargains to be had if you want to leave our shores," he concluded. offers rooms in 80,000 hotels across the globe.
