Travel insurance: Cheap flights boost travel
Monday, 24 September 2007
The rise of cheap air fares has led to holidays becoming increasingly accessible for families, it has been claimed.
Although other costs such as travel insurance, hotel booking and buying a new pair of shorts, recent years has seen a steady fall in the cost of air travel as firms such as easyJet and Wizz Air offer discounted flights.
This has lead to a spokesperson for Take the Family.com claiming that many more parents are subsequently interested in taking short breaks or seeking out accommodation as they seek to take advantage of tumbling travel costs.
"They [cheap flights] have also allowed parents to make their own decisions of when they go and how long they go for and they are no longer restricted to the seven or 14 days holiday options," said the spokesperson.
According to the official airline guide, there were two million extra low-cost seats available to on European flights than one year previously.
