Car insurance: Chevrolet celebrates successful May
Monday, 08 June 2009
The number of Brits looking for car insurance for Chevrolet models may have increased last month, if new figures are anything to go by.
According to statistics from the manufacturer, the company sold 1,589 vehicles during May.
It pointed out this is equivalent to a 1.18 per cent market share - up 40 per cent on the same month last year.
Chevrolet described it as one of the firm's best Mays ever since setting up in the UK in 2005.
Managing director Mark Terry said: "To buck the overall trend of the new car market at all is an achievement - to do it at this level is unprecedented."
The group's best-selling model was the Matiz, which is currently available from £4,295 under the scrappage scheme.
Motorists who buy this auto may find it qualifies for cheap vehicle insurance - as cars with smaller engines are generally regarded as posing a lower risk.
