Travel insurance: City options 'more popular than theme parks'

Monday, 11 February 2008

More families are now choosing to go on cultured breaks than trips to destinations such as theme parks, Kirker Holidays has said.

The latter type of holidays are too structured towards children, a number of holidaymakers have said, claimed director of marketing at the outfit Ted Wake.

Because of this feeling, a growing number of people therefore want options that are more "intellectually stimulating", the official noted.

And, he suggested, city breaks - because of the time duration involved - now include a great deal of practicality for families in the modern world.

"The pressure on families, with both parents working, perhaps and a range of ages, is to spend quality time together. It's more practical to achieve that on a short break," Mr Wake commented.

Kirker Holidays says that it offers a number of holiday options, including transfers and private options. It has expanded its range in the last few years.

Tourists about to embark on a city break should ensure that they have adequate travel insurance before they make the trip.
