Car insurance: Police crack down on anti-social drivers

Police in Devon are aiming to stamp out incidents of anti-social driving in the area.

Such motorists have been causing problems on the road, resulting in complaints from members of the public. A dangerous driver is likely to put others" car insurance no-claims bonuses at risk.

Incidents have occurred in several areas of Crediton, with local officers aiming to educate and inform the anti-social road users, the Mid Devon Star reports.

Sergeant Gareth Twigg of Crediton Police told the paper: "We don"t want to be in the position where we are seizing vehicles.

"We want drivers to listen to the message and show consideration for other members of the community."

However, he added that steps would be taken to tackle offenders if they persist.

It was recently claimed that some police officers are taking unnecessary risks behind the wheel of their vehicles when involved in chases.
