New research has revealed just how important car insurance may be for Britain's dads. A survey by Motors.co.uk found the country's fathers spend an average of six months of their lives ferrying their kids about. By the time their children reach 18 years old, the typical dad will have covered more than 56,000 miles – the equivalent of 266 trips from Paris to London. During an average week, they spend three hours at the wheel and travel in excess of 60 miles taking their sons and daughters to school and various social events. Katie Armitage, marketing manager for the website behind the poll, commented: "This Father's Day, motors.co.uk is calling for all dads to have the day off to spend some quality time at home with their families - without a car in sight." The study also discovered the actress Joanna Lumley would be most men's first choice of passenger, followed by Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole. Meanwhile, people who spend a lot of time at the wheel may find a good motor insurance policy provides valuable peace of mind. Car Insurance - Get Swiftcovered today!
