Car insurance: Daihatsu 'could help drivers downsize'

Tuesday, 09 June 2009

Motorists looking to buy a value for money vehicle that qualifies for cheap car insurance may want to pay a visit to their nearest Daihatsu dealership.

The manufacturer claimed its Sirion model is the perfect auto for people keen to tighten their belts.

It explained owners will find road tax costs are low - at £35 a year - as a result of the fact the car boasts CO2 emissions of 118 g/km.

The vehicle is also capable of achieving 56.5 mpg, which means motorists could end up saving money at the pump.

In addition to this, Daihatsu pointed out those taking part in the scrappage scheme could drive away in the model for as little as £6,320.

Operations director Paul Hegarty said: "We pride ourselves on building ultra-reliable, practical, fun-to-drive cars for the twenty-first century motorist and the Sirion is a brilliant example of this philosophy."

Meanwhile, buyers opting for this vehicle may find it also qualifies for budget car insurance as a result of its small engine.
