Car insurance: Daihatsu 'could help drivers cut costs'

Monday, 06 April 2009

Motorists keen to reduce their car insurance premiums by downsizing may want to take a look at a model from Daihatsu.

The manufacturer claimed no other vehicle in its class can match the performance, low emissions and fuel economy of the Sirion.

Capable of accelerating from zero to 60 mph in 13.5 seconds, the car boasts a top speed of 99.4 mph.

Buyers of the model will also qualify for relatively cheap road tax due to the fact it offers CO2 emissions of 118 g/km - meaning annual vehicle excise duty for the Sirion stands at £35.

In addition to this, Daihatsu Sirion pointed out the auto can cover 165 miles on £10 worth of fuel.

Operations director Paul Hegarty said: "It's the car all families and businesses should be looking at, offering class-leading economy, performance and emissions."

Motorists may also find the Sirion qualifies for low cost motor insurance as a result of its small engine size.
