Tuesday, 27 May 2008

Warwickshire county council is to team up with a milk firm in the bid to make roads in the area safer.

Now safety logos will adorn lorries operated by Dairy Crest in Nuneaton, after the drive by the Road Safety Unit, reports the Coventry Telegraph.

Martin Heatley, county councillor, noted that drivers will be targeted when they are already on the roads and therefore this is a commendable strategy.

He told the news source: "I am extremely grateful to Dairy Crest for offering us this wonderful opportunity to deliver road safety advice to a massive audience."

This highlights a good level of commitment to local communities, Mr Heatley added, with other similar firms now hopefully going down the same route.

He also suggested that there is a chance that the number of accidents witnessed locally will decrease.

Dairy Crest operates in a number of sectors such as the cheese and spreads markets.

Motorists caught breaking the law may find that their car insurance premiums are negatively impacted upon.
