Car insurance: Road changes could be made

Wednesday, 02 April 2008

New measures may be put in place on one duel carriageway in Darlaston after a new campaign was launched.

Recently, Walsall council has revealed that it is looking at ways to boost safety capabilities in the area, changes that may take place in the next year, reports the Express & Star.

This is because there have been a number of incidents on the stretch in the past, which could have led to serious injury.

And traffic and transportation service manager at the council Glyn Oliver remarked that alterations may take place soon after discussions.

"Our proposal is to reduce the dual lane carriageway into a single lane to improve highway safety on this stretch of road. We plan to go out to consultation shortly," he commented.

Another road safety campaign in Bedmond recently proved popular, as locals signed up to a petition to reduce the speed limit in an area there.

Drivers involved in accidents may find that their car insurance premiums are negatively impacted upon.
