Motor insurance: Road changes met with acclaim

Friday, 27 June 2008

Changes to a road in the north-east have been welcomed this week as locals believe that safety will be improved there, something that may interest those with motor insurance.

Transport minister Tom Harris stated that it is fantastic news for campaigners that the A66 between Darlington and Stockton now has fresh features, reports the Northern Echo.

Amendments on the road include a new slip road, plus the removal of junctions and the creation of a bridge.

Mr Harris asserted that these should hopefully mean that the number of incidents witnessed locally will now be lowered.

"I wish schemes like this could happen more often, but at least this one can now make a difference," he told the publication.

He added that this is a good "achievement" for the community and that an extra degree of "confidence" could be seen by drivers now.

The have been calls for the implementation of a roundabout on one road in Yorkshire, where the A19 meets Main Street, because of regularity of accidents there.
