Do dimmers, says lighting expert
Friday, 07 September 2012
While some people may enjoy the simplicity of lights which simply have two options, on or off, dimmer switches are always another option.
And far from being a novelty that home insurance holders' kids use to turn their rooms into make-shift theatres, it seems that these are an important element when it comes to lighting design.
When you want to make the lighting at home better, putting every light on a dimmer switch is "the single most important element", one expert has said.
Design director at Light IQ Rebecca Weir has said that this is a simple solution which is flexible.
Making sure you constantly have quality 'task lighting' is also important, she suggested.
That could come from the likes of lighting on the underside of kitchen cupboards or reading lamps, she said.
People will find that their eyes are straining less if they use these sorts of lighting options, Ms Weir suggested.
"This will reduce eye strain and create a more comfortable environment in which to live," she added.
