Travel insurance: Dubai 'a good destination'

Dubai is becoming one of the best destinations in the world in which to enjoy a holiday, according to new comments by the Association of British Travel Agents.

The organisation said that developments in the location and investments have boosted its attractiveness as a holiday spot.

Spokeswoman Frances Tuke asserted that Dubai is "four and five star upwards" in terms of the amenities it offers.

In past times, Dubai was a fairly barren but now it has seen considerable growth, thanks to the opening up of fresh resources, Ms Tuke remarked.

She commented: "Dubai, quite a while ago, was really just a desert state; [now] it's one of the fastest growing cities in the world."

Growth rates in the tourism markets of areas such as the Middle East and Africa are growing quicker than those in the rest of the world on average, the World Travel and Tourism council has noted.

Tourists should ensure they have adequate travel insurance in place before embarking on journeys.
