Travel insurance: Easter options are popular
Friday, 15 February 2008
Various holiday destinations are set to be popular this Easter around the world, according to comments made by Thomas Cook.
One of these, Disneyland Paris, is now more accessible for tourists because of the recent switch by Eurostar to St Pancras in London, the company claimed.
A spokeswoman added that families often opt to travel to traditional places such as Lanzarote, Cyprus, Gran Canaria and the Algarve.
Both long-haul options and shorter city breaks are popular among travellers at this time, noted the official.
"Families take advantage of the kids being off and jet off for early summer sun and long-haul appeals as these are the destinations where you are guaranteed good weather," she commented.
She said that the company advises people to book breaks as early as they can so that they can get access to the best deals and best dates.
An average Easter holiday in 2007 set travellers back about £2,376 on average, statistics from Travel Counsellors have said.
People going away on Easter breaks should ensure that they have adequate travel insurance before they travel.
