Travel insurance: Eastern Europe 'may suit people on a budget'

Wednesday, 16 September 2009

Holidaymakers who already know where to go for the best deals on cheap travel insurance may be able to save even more money by choosing their getaway destination wisely, it has been suggested.

According to travelsupermarket.com, people on a budget should consider trips to eastern Europe.

It pointed out countries like Poland, Hungary and Bulgaria still use their own currency, which makes them considerably cheaper than locations within the eurozone.

Travel expert Bob Atkinson stated: "British people, who are fairly rich in the scheme of things, go over there and everything's astronomically cheap or appears to be astronomically cheap."

He added eating out and buying gifts can be done at a fraction of the price it would cost in the UK.

Meanwhile, people looking to cut holiday outgoings may find making the effort to search for cheap travel insurance can make a significant difference to overall expenses.

Sorting cover out online may also help to save time.
