Car insurance: Eco-friendly cars for 2010

Thursday, 14 January 2010

There are many ways to save on car insurance, including driving a more eco-friendly vehicle.

With this in mind, the WhatGreenCar top ten series is looking ahead to the greenest and most innovative cars due to be launched this year.

It suggests that there is no better time to buy a fuel-efficient, low-emission vehicle, with car insurance quote prices, road tax and London Congestion Charge all coming down for green transport.

The green car website details fully-electric cars, petrol-hybrids, plug-in hybrids and Gasoline Direct Engine technology as concepts motorists will be seeing more of in 2010.

"While it may be confusing for consumers trying to choose a new car, with so many technologies on offer, there's no doubt that manufacturers are fully engaged with the challenge of designing, and more importantly selling, greener and ultra-green cars," said Dr Ben Lane, managing editor of WhatGreenCar.

Among the new models featured are the Honda CR-Z hybrid, Volvo S60, Audi A1 and Nissan LEAF electric.
