Car insurance customers encouraged to chat in cars

Car insurance customers should chat to their families in their cars in a bid to revive the art of conversation, it has been suggested.
GEM Motoring Assist, a registered road safety charity that funds organisations campaigning for improved road safety, has teamed up with Fink Cards, a company that aims to get people talking.
The new initiative from the pair should see more motor insurance customers entertained on a journey as well as avoiding the dreaded "are we nearly there yet?" moans from children.
In order to encourage better conversations, Fink has launched a travel edition of its cards to make sure families interact with one another on long journeys.
Also, if any car insurance policyholders are unlucky enough to breakdown on a hot summer's day, families can use the cards to entertain themselves at the roadside.
David Williams MBE, chief executive officer of GEM, said: "Keeping the kids happy and entertained in the car is very important, not only to keep the atmosphere relaxed but also from a safety perspective."
Unwanted distractions on journeys could lead to accidents, which will impact on the car insurance premiums that motorists pay, but Fink Cards are a good way to maintain conversations and a calmer atmosphere, Mr Williams added.
