Family holidays in the sun 'are the most popular'
Saturday, 08 October 2011
Brits have revealed that going on an overseas beach vacation with their family is the most popular type of break, according to ABTA – the Travel Association.
Its 2011 Consumer Trends Survey revealed to travel insurance customers that over two-fifths of UK holidaymakers said that they would enjoy a break dedicated to sunning themselves up, with their family as the perfect companions.
The firm's report also highlighted that the second most popular vacationing choice for Brits are city breaks with their partners and in third place are cultural vacations.
Mark Tanzer, chief executive at ABTA, said: "Our customers’ ideal holiday choices are incredibly wide and varied and our survey gives a fascinating insight into what they like to do and who they like to share their ideal holiday experiences with."
Recently, ABTA revealed that travel insurance customers would rather cut back on food shopping and home improvement projects rather than on their annual overseas vacation.
