Car Insurance: Brits may be tempted by Fiat 500 C

Thursday, 18 June 2009

More motorists in the UK may be tempted to take out car insurance for Fiat models after the release of the manufacturer's latest vehicle.

Priced from £11,300, the 500 C is due to arrive in showrooms up and down the country next month.

A special version of the convertible model recently went under the hammer to raise money for charity.

Designed by the artist Sir Peter Blake, the car raised £55,000 for two cancer organisations.

The event - held at Hampton Court Palace in London - was attended by a range of famous faces, including the mayor Boris Johnson, actor Vanessa Redgrave, author JK Rowling and former Russian president Mikhail Gorbachev.

In total, the auction generated some £1.5 million for charity.

Drivers who are tempted to buy the new convertible may find they can secure low cost motor insurance for the model as a result of its relatively small engine size.
