Thursday, 02 April 2009

More people may be tempted to take out car insurance for the soft-top version of Fiat's 500 now the manufacturer has announced prices for the model.

An entry-level edition of the vehicle - which goes on sale this summer - will cost £11,300.

The carmaker pointed out this is significantly less expensive than the majority of convertibles on the market and claimed it offers great value for money.

Available with a choice of 11 bodywork colours, including Tech House Grey and RaggaMuffin Red, the model also offers three roof shades - black, ivory and red.

Commenting on the new edition of the vehicle, Fiat's marketing director Elena Bernardelli said: "It is a car for people who want to express themselves and demonstrate their own personality."

She concluded: "I am sure 500 C will make a host of enthusiastic new friends."

People who downsize from a larger model to the new Fiat may find the cost of their motor insurance falls.
