Car insurance: Fiat Group reports sales boost

Saturday, 12 September 2009

The number of Brits searching for car insurance for models produced by the Fiat Group may have increased last month, if recent figures are anything to go by.

Statistics released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders revealed the company claimed a 5.14 per cent market share in August - its highest in more than eight years.

The brands making up the group are Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Abarth - which was launched in the UK in January 2008.

Models from all of these manufacturers saw "notable increases" in sales last month, the company announced.

Andrew Humberstone, managing director, commented: "This is a remarkable series of results for the Fiat Group, which highlights once again the growing popularity of Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Abarth vehicles in this country."

Meanwhile, motorists who have managed to secure a competitive deal on an auto from one of these three manufacturers may find they can save even more money by making sure they secure the cheapest online car insurance available.
