Car insurance customers can do their bit to help police fight vehicle crime by being vigilant to the dangers posed by thieves.
Humberside Police has released a study on the detection of car crime in North Lincolnshire, according to reports from local newspaper The Scunthorpe Telegraph.
The paper says the report by Humberside Police states the North Lincolnshire division's detection rates are 'historically poor'.
Chief Inspector Dave Houchin however, said that detection rates for car criminals are improving, and
car insurance policyholders can do their bit to help.
He said: "The public can really make the biggest difference by not leaving valuable items in their vehicles."
Chief Inspector Houchin plans to dedicate a team to vehicle crime, in a bid to hamper the phenomenon and bring peace of mind to car insurance customers.
