Film cameras focus on Ford

Sunday, 15 July 2012

It seems that film cameras have been focused on the Ford Focus ST recently.

Fresh flick The Sweeney is set to entertain UK cinema audiences come September and an early version of the ST, alongside Galaxy, Transit and Mondeo cars were involved in the film.

"It was important for me to collaborate with Ford on The Sweeney as their legacy with the original TV show is so strong – they're the perfect partner," Nick Love, who was a writer on the flick as well as directing, is quoted as saying by Ford.

And before the film hits cinemas, the Focus ST will be heading to the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It will feature in what the company has termed a "chase sequence" involving stunt drivers.

Of course, one of the most famous uses of a car in cinema has to be when The Italian Job splashed Minis on the screen.

No doubt many car insurance holders suddenly realised they could do with a car like that after the Minis' cinematic appearance!
