Car insurance: Ford wins two Top Gear awards

Ford has won two BBC Top Gear awards, cheap car insurance customers may be interested to know.

The Ford Focus RS was selected as Muscle Car of the Year by BBC Top Gear magazine.

Editor Conor McNicholas praised the car - the fastest and the most powerful front-wheel drive ever produced by Ford in Europe - as "nothing short of a hero".

"Amazing engineering in a car with huge road-presence, the RS is both massive fun and a connoisseur's choice," he said.

Meanwhile Ford's lowest carbon emitting model, the Ford Fiesta ECOnetic, was announced Green Car of the Year.

The ECOnetic produces just 98 grams of CO2 emissions per kilometre (CO2g/km), almost a third less than the UK average of 150.56 CO2g/km according to cleangreencars.co.uk.

"This Ford matches spritely on road dynamics with fabulous fuel economy," said Mr McNicholas. "There really is no compromise."
