Gain contentment with 'splashes of strong colour'

Sunday, 01 April 2012

Homeowners could gain contentment with "splashes of strong colour", according to one wallpaper specialist.

Following a neutral phase, home insurance holders could try adding some colour to their walls, Wallpaper Direct's Melanie Adams suggests.

She cites 'sherbet' shades and cute garden wildlife as currently popular.

Ms Adams says that the state of the economy makes design elements that warm the heart more necessary.

"I think splashes of strong colour in rooms is really cheerful and it makes you feel better about life," she declared.

And Ms Adams had further advice for home insurance holders on the hunt for wallpaper.

A room can be given the illusion of width with paper that has stripes along the horizontal, she says.

Meanwhile, "Big scale designs also create a real impactful wall for a feature wall. Wallpaper can really lift a space," she adds.
