The number of people taking out travel insurance and heading abroad this summer may not be too badly affected by the recession, if the comments of one industry body are anything to go by.According to Abta the Travel Association the economic downturn is unlikely to "drastically change" Brits' getaway plans.Senior membership marketing manager Steve Barnes explained: "People have it in their psyche that they want to take holidays."However, he acknowledged those individuals trying to tighten their belts may start looking at destinations outside the eurozone, as these are less expensive at the moment.Brits keen to cut their costs may find going online to search for a cheap travel insurance quote can save them money.Meanwhile, a recent report from Abta revealed 66 per cent of people say they get an emotional high from their summer getaway.Another 50 per cent stated they thought a break was vital to escape the doom and gloom of the recession.Travel Insurance - Get Swiftcovered today!
