Disquiet and rioting on the streets of numerous UK cities has highlighted to homeowners that they need to have robust home insurance in place to cover all eventualities.

It comes as the Association of British Insurers (ABI) has said that the cost of damage from the unrest was likely to reach more than £100 million.

Homeowners suffering damage without insurance are likely to face substantial losses and may have to rely on family, friends or even a crisis loan.

Nick Starling, the director of general insurance and health at the ABI, said: "Many policies will also cover people for accommodation costs if they can't stay in their home."

Swiftcover provides cover for loss or damage caused by fire which may have resulted from the recent riots.

And remember with Swiftcover you pick and pay for just the level and type of cover that you need, whether you want building cover, contents cover or both.
