Homeowners after "quirkiness" says furniture expert
Tuesday, 31 July 2012
Homeowners are after "quirkiness" when it comes to furniture, according to one expert.
"They are looking for quirkiness. It is a talking point," the Shankar spokesperson explained.
And it seems like there would be plenty for home insurance holders to talk about if they took home furniture made out of materials taken from other interesting items that have a story behind them.
The spokeswoman said that one range of wooden furniture that Shankar offer is Indian and has been constructed out of fishing boats and other similar items, explaining that this was an example of environmentally friendly furniture.
And for dining tables in particular, as well as quality and value for money being attributes that customers are after, it sounds like extending tables are currently in.
"Extending dining tables seem to be the thing," she said, adding: "They are probably the best selling item. Oak is most popular."
