Car insurance: Horse box 'is speed camera'

Tuesday, 01 April 2008

A speed camera has been concealed in a horse box on the A470 in Wales, it has been revealed.

Police parked at the roadside on the stretch close to Llanrwst on Sunday (March 30th), although the force refused to comment officially, reported the BBC.

But a spokeswoman at North Wales Police said that new measures are being introduced as the days grow in length to try and cut down on the number of accidents seen.

She commented: "We're not prepared to comment now on the precise tactics that will be used. We would ask that all road users obey the law and ride and drive responsibly."

A number of cyclists could be the victim of poor driving on the local roads, she added, something that could be improved.

Yesterday it was reported that drivers who have been caught speeding on a section of the M11 may get their money refunded because speed limit signs are not visible at night.

Motorists with speeding convictions may find that their car insurance premiums are negatively impacted upon.
