What Car? has released tips for how motorists can save money on their car insurance policies. The best thing to do is not to accept the annual renewal quote and instead shop around for a new car insurance quote, according to the car buyer's guide. Use price comparison sites to narrow down providers but also check websites themselves to ensure the best deal for car insurance is obtained. Young drivers can save money if they go on their parents' motor insurance policy, but they can only do this if they are not the main driver of the car. 'Fronting' on a motor insurance policy is illegal and, according to the Motor Insurers' Bureau, one in five drivers commit this act. Women lower the price of car insurance premiums, as they are considered to be low-risk drivers, so having one on the policy could reduce the cost.
