Car insurance: Jeep Cherokee 2008 'could benefit eco-friendly drivers'
Tuesday, 05 August 2008
Motorists picking up the 2008 Jeep Cherokee may be doing so in order to gain cheap car insurance policies.
This is because the vehicle can be purchased with a diesel engine which increases fuel efficiency and subsequently reduces a driver's carbon footprint.
Additional features installed inside the model include a new full-time four-wheel-drive system and Sky Slider - a retractable canvas roof which allows motorists to travel with the top down.
Motorists may also be swayed by new additions to the vehicle's interior, according to Nigel Land, marketing director of parent company Chrysler UK.
"The leather treatments to seats, handbrake and gear shifter, grab handles, door panels and centre console create a luxurious and refined feel," said the official.
Jeep originally began producing the first of its Cherokee models in 1974, mainly in Toledo, Ohio.
The full-size SUV was made in two and four-door variations until 1983, although later versions have since been developed.
