Motorists who are continually on the look out for ways to cut costs on things like fuel, road tax and car insurance may want to check out the Kia Borrego. The fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) was unveiled at the Los Angeles International Auto Show. According to the manufacturer, the model the vehicle had a top speed of 161 kph and system efficiency of 62 per cent. It added, with a 202-litre hydrogen tank, the car has a range of approximately 685 km. Hyun Soon Lee, president of research and development for Hyundai-Kia, said: "Entering this new phase of our programme is really exciting." He added: "The latest Borrego FCEV drives us closer to making fuel cell vehicles available for consumers." The model follows on from Kia's current environmental technology showcase car - the Sportage FCEV. In other news, the number of drivers looking for motor insurance for the cee'd may well have risen this year, after the company reported the model had become the country's best-selling estate within a year of its launch.
