Car insurance: Updated Sorento due in 2010

The number of people taking out car insurance policies for Kia models may go up next year with the release of a new addition to the manufacturer's range.

Due to be unveiled at the Seoul Motor Show, the revised Sorento offers a "futuristic touch" to the crossover utility vehicle sector, the company claimed.

It explained the updated model is lower and longer than its predecessor, lending it an athletic, modern feel.

Chief design officer Peter Schreyer said: "Sporty and striking, the new Sorento represents a new breed of vehicle."

He added the model "adopts simple, linear lines to create a powerful yet polished appearance".

The original version of the Kia Sorento vehicle was introduced in 2002 and Kia claimed this started to change perceptions of Kai as a small car specialist.
