Car insurance: Leeds youngsters undertake survey

Wednesday, 04 June 2008

A survey has been carried out by youngsters in the Horsforth area of Leeds in a bid to highlight road safety, something that could have an impact on drivers' car insurance.

Such a move follows a talk that was undertaken by officials at Leeds city council to youngsters at St Mary's School, reports Horsforth Today.

Councillor Chris Townsley suggested that the existing speed limit on Broadgate Lane is not good enough and motorists are still disregarding the rules.

"The best way to slow the traffic down is having parked cars along the road as motorists drive more carefully," he told the paper.

He added that this problem has been occurring for a while but because there are two schools on the stretch in question it needs to be brought into focus.

In related news, it was reported this week that changes will be made to a road that crosses a canal in Derbyshire following an incident that saw a car land in the waterway.
