Travel insurance: 'Rail link will improve transport'
Wednesday, 12 March 2008
A new rail link in Spain between Barcelona and Madrid is likely to be a great transport possibility for tourists, Atlas International has stated this week.
It is likely to have a positive impact on other areas of the country, such as the Costa Calida and Costa Blanca because travel times to these areas will be improved, a spokesman argued.
European sales director James Dearsley also suggested that the residential market could be improved, because people enjoy being close to the sea.
"It's much like France in August; they all go to the sea. This rail link will increase that shift of people from the cities to the coast," he commented.
He added that internal flights "will be a bit more quickly accessed" as people choose to typically fly or drive.
Recent figures from Trafalgar Square Overseas suggested that 56 per cent of second homes bought overseas are in either France or Spain.
Travellers should ensure that they have adequate travel insurance in place before making trips abroad.
