Many mirrors big for bathrooms

Sunday, 01 July 2012

One improvement people can make to their bathrooms is to introduce a large mirror to give the illusion of space, one expert has said.

Home insurance holders whose bathrooms could do with a spruce-up will no doubt find her expertise useful.

Quirke McNamara Consultancy's Susan Quirke says that people currently want to make the most of their bathroom space.

One technique they are employing is to introduce a number of sizeable mirrors, she said.

They're also putting in plenty of storage in search of a "clean lined" look.

Ms Quirke also heralded the presence of a touch of adventure in people's lighting choices.

"Lighting is starting to become an essential feature where clients want to be adventurous and have different colours dependant on their mood and different scenes," she said.

While the wet room trend hasn't diminished, it has been joined by a desire for luxurious bathing areas, she said.

"[People] want very modern, very chic, straight line products that are easy to clean and are free standing," a Bathroom City representative commented recently, when asked about bathroom looks.
