Car insurance: Mercedes-Benz World gets ready to welcome smart

Car insurance policyholders who drive smart cars might want to check out details of the forthcoming Mercedes-Benz World event.

The 2009 smart festival is due to take place on September 12th at the motoring location and the organisers said this year is hoped to build on 2008's celebration of the brand's tenth birthday.

According to the manufacturer, the event is a must-do for enthusiasts and there will be competitions as well as dedicated areas for new products.

Games involving smart driving will also be available for visitors to enjoy.

Al Young is chairman of thesmartclub and said the event reflects the "passion" of drivers.

"Months before any information about the event was available we were receiving enquiries," he added. "In the week that registration opened, 300 people signed up to take part."

In related news, Mercedes-Benz World recently announced the launch of its Driving Academy.

Unveiled in June of this year, it aims to "revolutionise" the way youngsters learn to drive.
