Car insurance: Europe, China 'in Outlander demand'

Friday, 08 August 2008

Mitsubishi has announced increased demand for its Outlander model in the European and Chinese automobile markets - which could increase the number of car insurance policies drivers take out.

According to the firm, it has recorded a 37.5 per cent rise in both areas which it has stated is down to brisk sales.

It could be that the demand results in an increase in car insurance policies taken out to cover Outlander vehicles.

The company also revealed that in its home country, Japan, production went up over the course of June.

"Production volume in Japan at 70,747 units was up 5.1 per cent, the 21st consecutive month of year-on-year growth and marking a new record for June," said Mitsubishi.

This follows the news that Mitsubishi will be trying out its new electric vehicle in the US.

It will be using California as a testing ground for the I MiEV.
