Car insurance: Motorists waste £456m on bad car decisions

British motorists waste £456 million every year by buying faulty used cars, according to a study by Network Q.
The used car retailer found that over half of people know someone who has bought a faulty used car as a result of not doing enough research and 28 per cent of used car purchases result in regret.
Buying a faulty used car can be dangerous and result in crashes causing motorists to claim on their car insurance and reduce the chance of getting budget motor insurance.
The chances of getting a cheap car insurance quotes are increased if a motorist ensures that the used car that they purchase has had a 114 point check and also a full mechanical assessment.
Network Q found that the worst area for buying faulty cars was East Anglia where people spend £406 per year on average on bad car decisions.
The age group that were most prone to making impulsive decisions without checking a car out thoroughly were 18-24 year olds who waste £440 on average per year on used cars.
