Car insurance: Conference on auto crime 'offers chance to share ideas'

Friday, 08 May 2009

The issue of criminal gangs staging traffic collisions in a bid to defraud car insurance companies will be one of the main topics to be discussed at an upcoming event.

Scheduled to take place on 20 and 21 May 2009, the National Vehicle Crime Conference will be attended by cover providers, motor manufacturers, senior members of the police and government representatives.

The gathering has been set up by the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators in the UK.

President Dr Ken German said the conference offers a chance for different groups to share ideas on how to fight car crime.

He stated: "It's the only event in the calendar which gives professionals from all sectors of the industry the opportunity to bring themselves up to speed on the latest issues."

Drivers who fit their vehicles with security devices in a bid to prevent them being stolen may find they qualify for low cost motor insurance.
